Challenge
Administrators and teachers wanted to integrate technology into the curriculum to help students develop life skills to succeed in a technology-based world. The education technology had to be as engaging as the students' entertainment technology.
SMART Solution
In 2003, the school purchased its first SMART Board interactive whiteboard. The number of interactive whiteboards has now increased to 14, with plans to install a SMART Board interactive whiteboard in every classroom during 2007.
Results
Students are more interested in their lessons, their presentation skills are improving and their projects are more organized and structured. Teachers say Notebook™ software and SMART Ideas™ concept-mapping software help create more engaging lesson plans that students find as riveting as entertainment programs.
