Overview
The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) is a state-supported residential school for eligible hearing-impaired and visually impaired students from preschool through grade 12. It is the largest school of its type in the United States.
Challenge
FSDB wanted to improve learning outcomes by standardizing on an interactive whiteboard that would benefit all students.
SMART Solution
After evaluating and comparing the ease of use and functionality of various interactive whiteboard brands, FSDB chose the SMART Board interactive whiteboard for campus-wide installation.
Results
Teachers are able to keep their hands free to use sign language, students with visual impairments can see computer images for the first time during lessons, and teachers say students are becoming more focused and motivated to learn.
